Melli Pittiglio is a Detroit-based photographer and 2024 BFA Photography graduate from the College for Creative Studies Detroit. She creates conceptual work that incorporates elements of nature, time, and symbolism; often creating idyllic scenes that reference the real world with a sense of poeticism.
Human-nature connection is a large part of her work. Taking influence from photographers like Jerry Ulesmann and Robert Bateman, she combines an interest in human nature, care for the natural world, and fascination with surrealism to create pieces of work discussing topics of environmentalism, human relationships, human-landscape relationships and biophilia, and spiritual communion with nature.
