Melli Pittiglio is a Detroit-based photographer and 2024 BFA graduate from the College for Creative Studies. Her conceptual work explores the relationship between humans and the natural world, weaving together elements of nature, time, and symbolism to create poetic, often surreal imagery.
Drawing inspiration from artists like Jerry Uelsmann and Robert Bateman, Melli’s work reflects a deep interest in human relationships, environmentalism, biophilia, and spiritual communion with nature. Her photographs often depict idyllic, symbolic scenes that blur the line between reality and imagination — inviting viewers into quiet moments of reflection, connection, and curiosity.
