I was struggling to ideate my next piece, so I turned to a fifteen-minute free write to help gather my thoughts. As I read back through what I had written, I noticed one recurring question: What do clouds taste like?
That small, absurd question inspired this series. I created a quiz called The Cloud Taste Test and sent it out to gather others’ feedback of what different types of clouds might taste like. Everyone who participated knew, of course, that you can’t actually eat a cloud — they aren’t light and fluffy like they appear, and science makes that impossible. Still, there’s something compelling about how readily people engage with the question.
There’s a quiet magic in that shared curiosity — a willingness to entertain the impossible, if only for a moment.
