This is a film piece about the abandoned but well-lived theatre in Detroit on Chene St. & E Palmer ST. I passed this theatre many times on my way home and found it compelling- partially due to the structure of the building, partially because is was theatre, and partially because there is no door and anyone can easily walk in.
Being from the area, there is both a sense of tragedy and fascination with crumbled places such as this. I would like Detroit to restore those of Gothic architecture- those with historical roots. And remove the ones that aren't. Ones whose stories have been lost in time and pain the eyes. But until then I will explore them.
